BAPB* No. 13: Debt ceiling, college football

Updated: Jan 3

*Bouncing Around Paul's Brain

Looking behind to look ahead

This week I read a history lesson for Republicans from a very conservative source. Tying up the Congress and the economy over the debt ceiling has always been a horrible idea and it remains so. Here's why.

In case you missed it, here's my good politics news of 2022. Coming next week: my political new years resolutions for 2023.

Predictions for the rest of college football

Updated 1/3/23--Was 5-4 in picking winners (including being wrong in next week's championship game) and 4-4 against the line (because there was no line at the time in the final).

Overall, (both these predictions and the first half of the bowl season) I was 20-12 in picking winners and 19-12 against the line. I'll take it!

Here's the rest of my college football predictions for the year. Today's games are in last week's post. Through last night I'm 17-11 both straight up and against the line; I guess I'm saving my best for last. But there's still time to blow it, so I'm going with the underdogs in the semifinals and further upsets by Illinois and Penn State. Most entertaining game should be Alabama-Kansas St. on Saturday.
